Ultimo Press is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic marketing and publicity executive to join our team. Ultimo Press is one of Australia’s most vibrant and exciting publishers, and is home to award-winning and critically acclaimed authors such as Diana Reid, Sulari Gentill, Anna Spargo-Ryan, Hannah Bent, Sophie Cunningham and Shankari Chandran.

As community and media officer you will manage communications on our social media channels and website to develop, nourish and grow an engaged and interactive audience and community. Additionally you will create and execute marketing and publicity campaigns for a number of our titles. We are a small team, so the community and media officer will also provide support to the rest of the community and media team and be involved in all core activities and meetings that support the growth of our business—as such this is a fabulous learning opportunity for someone looking to round out their overall experience in publishing and take the next step on their career journey.

The ideal candidate will have six to 18 months’ experience working in-house at a publishing house, or related book industry business, in a marketing, publicity, digital or sales area. The successful candidate will have strong social media skills, a good understanding of audience and engagement, and some experience with media and marketing. Candidates should be highly organised, effective communicators, good on detail with strong time management skills and be ready for the next step.
