Aotearoa publishers receive audiobook funding

The successful recipients of the second round of funding in the Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture & Heritage audiobook publishing seed program in Aotearoa New Zealand have been announced by the Publishers Association of New Zealand/Te Rau o Tākupu (PANZ).
Grants have been offered to seven publishers towards the production costs of 28 audiobooks in total. The successful recipients are:
- Culturalhubb: NZ$6250 towards five audiobooks
- Dragon Brothers Books: $NZ6120 towards three audiobooks
- Flaxroots: NZ$2701 towards one audiobook
- HarperCollins Publishers New Zealand: NZ$16,056 towards five audiobooks
- HUIA: NZ$17,000 towards five audiobooks
- OneTree House: NZ$17,500 towards five audiobooks
- Penguin Random House New Zealand: NZ$10,500 towards four audiobooks.
Successful recipients of the first round of funding were announced in November, which included support for an additional 19 audiobooks. Applications for the third round will close on 11 March, with results announced on 9 April.
