BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival program announced

BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival, running 11–13 September, has launched its 2025 program.

Among the headliners are Michael Robotham, Candice Fox, Jane Caro and Gary Jubelin.

The program will feature ‘writing workshops, including the festival’s first offering of manuscript feedback sessions, and industry pitching opportunities across both fiction and nonfiction genres’. Literary agent Alex Adsett will be in conversation with author and psychologist Georgia Harper about what happens behind the scenes in publishing.

For the first time, this year’s festival will include young adult crime and mystery writing in the program with authors Amy Doak (Eleanor Jones is not a Murderer) and Troy Hunter (Gus and The Missing Boy), who will  both run workshops for high school students.

Artistic director Catherine du Peloux Menage said, ‘Our unique festival is a rare chance to meet your soon-to-be favourite new writers, hear about exciting crime fiction from authors we know and love, and witness the examination of critical true-crime and justice stories. With constructive word-smithing workshops and the 2025 Danger Awards, BAD continues to deliver the criminally good stuff for writers and readers.’

More information about the program is available on the festival website.
