International Literary Programmers Roundtable set to return to Melbourne

The Melbourne City of Literature office has announced that its International Literary Programmers Roundtable initiative will return in 2026.

In this fifth iteration of the program, six participants from literary organisations based in UNESCO Creative Cities and six delegates from Melbourne’s literary sector will meet in Melbourne.

During the program, participants network, exchange best practice ideas and attend local events such as the Melbourne Writers Festival.

Applications for the program are open to festival directors, librarians, bookshop programmers or ‘any UNESCO Creative City professional who works in the literary sector and delivers programs for an audience,’ said organisers.

Beginning with online meetings in early 2026, the program will then run in person 4–9 May 2026.

As required, each participant can receive a $1500 travel subsidy. Additionally, the program covers accommodation, meeting expenses, airport transfers and lunch while in Melbourne.

More information about the program is available on the Melbourne City of Literature website.
