NSW History Awards 2025 winners announced
The winners of the 2025 NSW History Awards, worth a total of $85,000, were announced on 5 September 2025 at the State Library of NSW (SLNSW) as part of NSW History Week.
The winning titles in each category, chosen from shortlists announced in August, are:

Yirranma Place: Stories of a Darlinghurst Corner (Alana Piper, NewSouth)

One Mind, One Heart (Larissa Behrendt, Michaela Perske and Clare Wright, Pursekey Productions)

Our History: Bold Ben Hall (Sophie Masson, Walker Books)

Rock and Tempest: Surviving Cyclone Tracy and its Aftermath (Patricia Collins, Hachette Australia).
NSW Minister for the Arts John Graham said, ‘Tonight, we celebrate the remarkable dedication of those who uncover hidden histories, amplify voices from our past and offer new ways of understanding and appreciating our world. Their work reminds us that history is not just behind us – it lives within us, linking generations and shaping our future.’
