DARTS and MDA announced the Luminas honours program
Diversity Arts Australia (DARTS) and Media Diversity Australia (MDA) have announced the Luminas, a national honours program recognising and celebrating ‘the trailblazers transforming Australia’s cultural and media landscapes’.
The Luminas categories, to be presented at the inaugural ceremony in April 2026, are:
- Storyteller Honour
- Leadership Honour
- Hall of Fame Honour.
Two honourees will be selected per category – one from an arts/creative sector and another from the media sector.
DARTS CEO and executive producer Lena Nahlous said, ‘Representation matters. Recognition matters. The Luminas is about celebrating the extraordinary contributions of culturally diverse creatives whose stories, leadership and legacies have shaped our national culture.’
MDA CEO Paula Kruger said, ‘It is now more important than ever to recognise the power of stories that reflect who we really are, a nation rich with cultural diversity. The Luminas celebrate our storytellers and, in doing so, encourage us all to be heard.’
Public nominations are open and will be judged by ‘two industry judging panels’, according to the Luminas nomination instructions.
