Literary organisation Stella has announced a second Stella Day Out event in Sydney, set to take place on 21 October at Quest Chatswood, NSW.

The evening event will offer drinks and canapés before an in-conversation between Jumaana Abdu, author of Translations (Vintage) which was shortlisted for the 2025 Stella Prize, and academic and writer Sophie Gee.

Stella Day Out is a free one-day literary festival that ‘celebrates and promotes the outstanding contributions of women and non-binary writers to Australian literature’.

The organisation has also recently run events in Warrnambool, Adelaide, Sydney, Darwin, Brisbane, Canberra and Hobart. Future events are also planned in Melbourne, Perth, Ballarat and Aireys Inlet. Programs are released individually.
