APA releases ABIA guide

The Australian Publishers Association (APA) has released a guide for publishers entering the 2026 Australian Book Industry Awards (ABIA).

Drawing on judging comments from last year’s awards, Judges Insights: A guide for publishers entering ABIA 2026 explains how to write an entry for the awards, while including the items that judges are looking for. Topics in the guide include: “editorial care as a big differentiator”, “meeting the criteria really matters”, and “evidence and metrics strengthen your story”.

The APA said, “We’ve pulled together insights and learnings from the 2025 judging panels to show what really stood out, what caught their attention, what made entries easy to champion and what separated the winners from the rest.”
