Readings announces New Australian Fiction Prize 2022 shortlist
The shortlist for the Readings New Australian Fiction Prize has been announced.
The shortlisted titles are:
- Cold Enough for Snow (Jessica Au, Giramondo)
- Hovering (Rhett Davis, Hachette)
- Losing Face (George Haddad, UQP)
- Love & Virtue (Diana Reid, Ultimo)
- Loveland (Robert Lukins, A&U)
- Sunbathing (Isobel Beech, A&U).
The shortlist was chosen from 57 entries by Readings staff Christine Gordon, Carolyn Watson, Susan Stevenson and Tye Cattanach. They will be joined by last year’s winner Andrew Pippos and managing director Mark Rubbo to select the winner, who receives $3000.
The Readings New Australian Fiction Prize is presented to the best new contribution to Australian literature. Pippos was awarded the prize last year for Lucky’s (Picador). The shortlists for the Readings Children’s Prize and YA Book Prize were announced earlier this month, with the winners of all three Readings prizes to be announced on Wednesday, 26 October.
