International product co-ordinator, Sydney

Allen & Unwin, Australia’s largest independent book publisher, is looking for a motivated, proactive and capable co-ordinator to support our International Agencies product team. Reporting to the International Agencies Director, and working on our extensive and varied agency lists (including Faber & Faber, Profile Books, Canongate, Bonnier, Atlantic, Quarto), you will be responsible for the managing of metadata, liaising with our international publishers, preparation of material for the sales team, and providing general support to the International team.

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following skills and experience:

• Exceptional attention to detail
• Highly computer literate (proficiency in Excel in particular, but also Word, Powerpoint, Adobe Acrobat, inventory systems)
• Strong communicator
• Copywriting and proofreading skills
• Well-organised, reliable and motivated
• An avid reader with a passion for books and publishing

This is an entry-level position in a dynamic and creative environment which would suit a graduate looking for their first step into a career in publishing. Experience in bookselling or publishing would be an advantage, though not essential.
